Inspiring Young Minds In Our Community
Last week, some of our colleagues from across SPS had the pleasure of visiting Eastover Community Primary School for an exciting Careers Day! From the Training Team and Data Team to colleagues in Scheduling, Learning & Development, and Operations, our team shared the diversity of roles that are at SPS and how we each found our way into our careers.
The day started with an introduction to what SPS does, giving students a behind-the-scenes look at our work and the different ways people contribute. Each colleague then shared their career journey, the challenges, the surprises, and the paths that led them to SPS, helping students see that there is no single route to a successful career.
Students also joined in fun career-themed games, sparking curiosity, teamwork, and laughter. During the Q&A session, they asked insightful questions about our roles and how to prepare for the future. The key message of the day was clear ‘you don’t need to know exactly what job you want when you grow up, but working hard in school opens the doors to countless possibilities.’
We are proud to support the next generation in exploring careers and imagining their futures. Thank you to the staff and students at Eastover Primary School for welcoming us; the children were enthusiastic, engaged, and incredibly well-behaved!
