When one of Suffolk’s largest wildfires broke out near Sizewell C, our team quickly stepped in to support local evacuation efforts. Within an hour, SPS deployed drivers and vehicles to help residents reach welfare centres, while also collecting pets, medication and other essentials.
Aled Williams, SZC Account Director, said: “The bus drivers were the real heroes. They stepped up without hesitation to help people in need, while we brought in additional resources to ensure our usual services continued without disruption.”
Supervisor Gavin Kerry added: “Seeing the incident unfold so close to home was daunting, but being able to act fast to provide emergency evacuation transport and vital food drop-offs was a privilege. The heartfelt thanks we received from local families and first responders made every second worth it.”
A huge thank you to everyone involved for their professionalism, compassion and commitment to supporting the local community.
