Road Safety Awareness Workshop at a Local Primary School
As part of our ongoing efforts to support local communities, SPS recently visited St Joseph’s Catholic Primary School in Bridgwater to speak with students about the importance of road safety.
Through fun and engaging discussions, we shared essential road safety tips, answered questions about our work at SPS, and inspired young minds to think about staying safe when walking, cycling, or riding in vehicles.
We’re proud to have donated high-visibility vests to St Joseph’s Catholic Primary School, ensuring they stay safe and visible. It was a wonderful opportunity to connect with the future generation and remind them how small actions today can lead to safer journeys tomorrow. A big thank you to the students and staff for their enthusiasm and warm welcome!
Here is what some of our team had to say:
"Delivering a Road Safety Day at St. Joseph’s School in Bridgwater was a truly rewarding experience. Engaging with the students and teaching them essential road safety skills was both enjoyable and valuable. The session focused on key safety topics, including the importance of being aware of their surroundings, understanding road signs, and practicing safe pedestrian behaviour. The students were enthusiastic, eager to participate, and asked insightful questions, showing a real interest in learning how to stay safe near roads. It was great to see their confidence grow throughout the session, especially during interactive activities where they put their knowledge into practice. Their enthusiasm and willingness to engage made the day a success.Educating young people on road safety is crucial, and I am proud to have played a part in helping them develop lifelong safe habits. I look forward to future opportunities to continue this important work."

Today reminded me why I do what I do. I’m incredibly humbled by the enthusiasm, curiosity, and kindness shown by the children at St Josephs. Their energy and eagerness to learn about road safety inspire me every time! It’s such a rewarding feeling to give back, no matter how small the gesture. Being able to deliver our road safety sessions to schools in our local community fills me with gratitude—I feel privileged and fortunate to be in this position. Every smile, question, and “thank you” from these young road safety heroes fuels my passion to keep making a difference.

Our commitment doesnt stop there!
At SPS, giving back is at the heart of what we do. Whether it’s:
- Litter picking to keep Bridgwater clean,
- Promoting road safety near schools,
- Or sharing the magic of books with future leaders…
We’re dedicated to making a difference. And this is just the beginning as we look to support more community initiatives this year. Watch this space!
Thank you to the students, teachers, and staff at Willowdown and Eastover for welcoming us with such enthusiasm.
