At SPS, we are committed to reducing our environmental impact and making a positive contribution to the communities and environments in which we operate. Through our SPS GO GREEN campaign, we are taking practical steps to reduce fuel consumption, lower carbon emissions and support a more sustainable future.
Reducing Fuel Consumption
A key focus of our SPS GO GREEN campaign is to reduce fuel wastage by 10,000 litres. For every 500 litres of fuel saved, SPS will plant a tree through the local Trees For Good Causes initiative, helping us turn fuel savings into a positive environmental contribution.
By improving driving efficiency, monitoring fuel usage and identifying opportunities to reduce unnecessary consumption, we aim to make more efficient use of our fleet while lowering our environmental impact.
Improving Fleet Efficiency
We continually explore ways to improve the efficiency and environmental performance of our operations.
Cleaner emissions: We operate Euro VI diesel-powered vehicles, helping to reduce nitrogen oxides (NOx) and particulate matter (PM) emissions and contribute to improved air quality.
Smarter driving: Technology allows us to analyse driving styles, monitor vehicle performance and identify opportunities to improve fuel economy and reduce unnecessary fuel consumption.
Reducing unnecessary mileage: Our geofenced low-bridge warning system has enabled us to replace coaches with double-deckers on selected services, reducing the number of vehicles required and saving thousands of miles of travel, helping to lower CO₂ emissions.

Our commitment to sustainability extends beyond fuel savings. We recognise the importance of responsible resource use, effective waste management and supporting the local environments and communities in which we operate.
