Supporting young people with cancer and their families

About Young Lives vs Cancer
Young Lives vs Cancer is the only charity in the UK with specialist social workers dedicated to supporting children, young people and their families through a cancer diagnosis and beyond. They help families with emotional, practical and financial challenges, working to make sure that no young person faces cancer alone.
Their support includes:
Specialist social care to help families with the emotional and practical impact of cancer.
Financial support and advice to ease costs associated with treatment.
Free ‘Homes from Home’ accommodation near treatment centres so families can stay close during long hospital stays.
Every day in the UK, around 10 children and young people are told they have cancer, and the charity works across the country to give them and their families tailored support.
So Far…
We held cake sale as our first fundraising event in support on Young Lives vs Cancer, for World Cancer Day, on 4th February 2026!
From selling cakes to engineers in the VMU, to colleagues in our driver welfare, and at Site with our night colleagues – it was fantastic to see so many of our teams getting involved. A special thank you to Somerset Larder for generously donating cup cakes.

Our Plans for 2026
